About the event

For many of us who have been displaced or marginalized, we tell our stories not only to survive — we do it so we can also fully thrive.

Supported by City of Oakland Cultural Funding Program, Oakland Asian Cultural Center and ARTogether invite local Bay Area and Oakland residents to a unique, creative community-building opportunity where participants will get together in-person to share stories, learn a new skill AND meaningfully connect with one another.

Hosted by award-winning writer/filmmaker and queer immigrant Edward Gunawan, the six all-level workshop sessions will take place in-person in April-May 2022, followed by a public screening of the participants’ works-in-progress in June 2022.
